How it works
The TORPEDO liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) vaporizer type DS is indirectly steam-heated and works with a liquid heat transfer medium based on a mixture of antifreeze, inhibitors and water.
The vaporizer coil and the steam coil are flanged to the front end of the vaporizer and can be withdrawn for servicing. The self-acting steam temperature regulator ensures that the heat transfer medium always has a constant operating temperature.
The vaporizer is started up electrically from the control cabinet. It is ready for operation once the required vaporization temperature has been reached in the unit. Within preset limits, the solenoid valves open fully automatically under thermostat control. LPG enters the vaporizer and is converted into the vapour phase there at unchanged pressure up to the stated rated capacity.
In the event of overload, power failure or severe voltage fluctuations, the solenoid valves close. A safety temperature limiter monitors the heat transfer medium. The design and construction of the vaporizer ensure low-maintenance and fully automatic vaporizer operation, including in hazardous area Zones 1 and 2; the control cabinet is installed outside the hazardous area.
