How it works
The TORPEDO liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) vaporizer type ES is a wet-type vaporizer. It is indirectly electrically heated and works with a liquid heat transfer medium based on a mixture of antifreeze, inhibitors and water.
The vaporizer coil and the heating element terminal box are flanged to the front end of the vaporizer and can be withdrawn for servicing. The vaporizer is started up electrically from the control cabinet. The heat transfer medium is heated and monitored under thermostat control within preset limits.
Once the required vaporization temperature has been reached, the solenoid valves open. LPG enters the vaporizer and is converted into the vapour phase there at unchanged pressure up to the stated rated capacity.
In the event of overload, power failure or severe voltage fluctuations, the solenoid valves close. An additional safety temperature limiter monitors the heat transfer medium and prevents its temperature from rising to an impermissible level. The design and construction of the vaporizer ensure low-maintenance and fully automatic vaporizer operation, including in hazardous area Zones 1 and 2; the control cabinet is installed outside the hazardous area. The unit can be integrated into SIL 2 safety functions.

Voltage 400 V. The rated capacity applies at saturation conditions to propane, butane and rDME alike. Values for the standard version; we adapt wet-type vaporizers to the order and the place of use, also with combined heating (electric and heating water).
